Alcossebre<\/strong> is a small coastal town bathed by Mediterranean<\/strong> waters and at the foot of the Serra d’Irta.<\/p>

Its more than 11 km of coastline and its warm climate<\/strong> together with the cultural and leisure offer have made Alcossebre a quality tourist destination within the Valencian Community.<\/p>

All its fine sand beaches have a blue flag as an environmental mark. Las Fuentes beach owes its name to the many freshwater springs that spring from the shore.<\/p>

The union between sea and mountains<\/strong> creates one of the most charming landscapes on the Valencian coast. The Serra d\u2019Irta is a virgin landscape treasure that remains intact and protected. The mountain ends just where the Mediterranean begins and this wonder forms cliffs, small virgin coves with crystal clear waters and routes worth exploring<\/strong> with the five senses for their flora and fauna.<\/p>

Another of the great attractions of this coastal nucleus is the proximity to the Illes Columbretes<\/strong>, a small archipelago formed by volcanic islets located 24 miles from the coast, a protected natural area of \u200b\u200bgreat environmental wealth, which can be reached and scuba diving with excursions that depart from the marina.<\/p>

Alcossebre - Alcal\u00e0 de Xivert\n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Located in the northeast of the province of Castell\u00f3n, in the Baix Maestrat region, it has a population of close to 7,000 inhabitants. Well connected by road, through the N-340 and A-7 motorway, as well as by train, as part of the Valencia-Barcelona line, it is only one hour from Valencia airport.<\/p>

The history of Alcossebre dates back to the 13th century, when it belonged to the municipality of Alcal\u00e0 de Xivert. 1260 saw the repopulation of Alcossebre by order of the Master of the Knights Templar. Until the 20th century, the land in Alcossebre remained mostly under the control of the landowners of Alcal\u00e0, and it was not until the 1960s that tourism began to take off, altering with it the traditional dynamics of the place and the people.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The industry is represented by clothing manufacturing, construction material warehouses, oil mills, and various fruit warehouses, where many of the district’s fruits are sold. Construction is another important local industry.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In Alcal\u00e0 de Xivert, be sure to visit the parish church, the bell tower and the Xivert castle. In Alcossebre, you can explore the entire coastal area, including the marina and beaches, such as Playa de las Fuentes. Go up to the hermitage of Santa Luc\u00eda, a wonderful viewpoint from which you can contemplate the coast of Castell\u00f3n.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

It has a Mediterranean climate, with hot summers, mild winters and little rainfall. The average annual temperature is 15.8\u00baC. The district stretches for more than 10 km of coastline, while some of the nearby mountains have an altitude of 145 m. The sea and the mountains dominate the landscape: the proximity between the two is the first thing that catches your eye when you arrive in Alcossebre.
